Dear Raawan uncle...

Jai Shri Raawan

Dear Raawan uncle

First let me congratulate you to make it to the internet and welcome you to the virtual world. I am starting this page as a tribute to you, who against all odds won my heart to be my super hero. I chose you to be my mentor because I see you all around me. In politicians, policemen, municipality, defense, finance, my boss and his dog, my ex-girlfriends, my in-laws and last but not the least my wife. I would say you are in every one. You are omni present. Every body has Raawanistic characters in them. Raawanism is every where. Raakshas and Raakshis are every where. I first heard your name when my grand mother called me Raawan because I broke her spectacles for the third time in a week. I was a toddler than. I will tell you more about it later.

I want to proudly inform you that once even my daughter was given the part of Raawan in her kindergarten Ram-Leela. I felt like celebrating Diwali in the month of May. As usual my wife played spoil sport and SUGGESTED me not to celebrate the occasion. Anyways, I could not sleep for a week. I was so excited that I felt like jumping and started jumping red lights and now hold world record for most number of challans issued to one single party in a day.

My infatuation started the day I was called Raawan and since then it has grown with me. I started finding more opportunities to be called by your name. My teacher, my father, my mother, my friends, my ex-girlfriends, their parents and now my wife and even my daughter fondly call me Raawan. My in-laws even consider me your direct descendant. I wonder why?

But tell me where I have been wrong to follow my mentor. I have done everything to make you proud of me except of course kidnapping. I really could not do it. Last time I tried that I ended up giving the poor soul my gold chain. My dad thrashed me black and blue.

I think kidnapping and not the prostitution is the oldest profession of the world. It was you my dear sir who introduced the idea of kidnapping. Although in this economically twisted world they do it for a ransom. I am happy to inform you that since its inception, kidnapping has grown to a full fledged and prospering industry. Growing by billions of dollars every year and spreading all across the globe. From Iraq to Idaho, Afghanistan to Amsterdam, Ulhasnagar to Uganda its every where. The criminals are kidnapping people of all race and creed and of all shapes and sizes as well.

The Indian state of Bihar is the “Kidnap Capital” of the world. With Government and administration showing their interest in creating infrastructure and even special schools and colleges for the purpose, this state is going to be the hub of kidnapping industry very soon. The government is also planning to finance and facilitate the kidnappers for buying necessary equipments for kidnapping through the financial institutions and banks. Politicians are already demanding a quota in the parliament for the kidnappers. Honorable Chief Minister of the state of Bihar has even declared a pension scheme for senior kidnappers.

I have also heard it from the grape-vine that the criminals from all across the globe are sending their new recruits to get trained in Bihar. With foreign investments and attention coming in from major players of the world like Afghanistan and Iraq, I can assure you that this state is going to be very rich in no time. Microsoft is also planning to launch a special Window KID-NAP to commemorate the efforts of Bihar and its kidnapper sons. Shortly catching up is the state of Uttar Pradesh.

But sadly enough with a lot of recruitment requirements coming from middle-east these days; we are facing a man-power-crunch. Now this is what I call “Brain Drain”. I think Indian government should do something to stop this exodus of talents from our country.

The modern day kidnappers are equipped with all kinds of gadgets like mobile phones, latest automatic guns and even rocket launchers. I am sure they must be missing that Pushpak thing you used to fly, but never mind; sure enough, some body would catch up with that too. Imagine a kidnapper kidnapping a kidnappee (one who is kidnapped) in a chopper called Pushpak by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited. Oh! I feel like crying.

I will keep you posted from now on, on the current issues. Please bookmark this page and keep coming back every now and then.

With regards

Raawanistically yours

Chota Raawan

Our Indian Hindu society is much more inclined towards Ram & krishna and all the famous lords. But this is the first time i have seen someone so inclined towards the Mahagyani Raawan. Good to see the appreciation a follower who is no less than a followed desciple.

So i welcome you with the first comment and a welcome to the world of blog.

Or Raawanism to the world of internet.

Jai Shri Raawan

In the name of father & holy spirit....

A good welcome thought and a good writer indeed with a humor and emotional touch in it.
After all emotions are Indians identity...hey just joking..

Good Luck..

Bolo Shri Chote Rawan ki..... jai!!

I must say a nice satire to present (initially) talking about people with in-born "talents" of raawanism. Then in a flow it took a specific idea of kidnapping. It surely tickles me the idea of becoming a millionaire in short span of time...lol

Excited to know more of your traits which made raawan ur deity.

luv

(on the path of raawanism... or shud i give a twist calling it raawangiri??!!)

I must say that your insights on Rawanism are quite humorous, though they are quite true as well.
I would be waiting for your next post, sir.
By the way, I'm a friend of Niharika's.

Your post is offensive in the extreme and manages to expose your highly opionionated mindset.

Have you ever visited Bihar or done any serious study of the place before making provocative statements like Bihar being the kidnap capital and writing all kinds of useless crap about the place? Are you aware how Bihar has been looted of its wealth by govt of India and other states by freight equalisation, denial of dev schemes and lowest per capita allocation in each five year scheme since independence? Please do not exceed limits in your jehad to denigrate Bihar and its people.

With your cup of hate brimmeth over for Bihar, I must say you eminently qualify to be not just a chota ravan but something far more sinister than that. I wonder if even Ravan would have had such feelings about any community as you have chosen to exhibit about Bihar.

Perhaps a more apt description would be Hitler. His 'love' for jews would come quite near to your bile about Bihar.

I acknowledge that I have not been to Bihar and never done a case study on the subject. Its not Bihar alone which has been looted of its rights. Every Government of every state has looted the public of their fundamental right. I have nothing against Bihar or the people of Bihar. I acknowledge their contribution to the society, and hope that despite all oddities against them they will keep on doing so.

So at last i got some one who is thinking like me.

I was always against the ritual of Dussera used to be celebarated in our country.

After all how can u do these bulshit to a great scholor and intelligent Lankesh, who had a wise knowledge of Ved, matra etc etc.

Are bahi, tum kisi ki bhen ki naak katoge to agla kya karega. Good work ravanji.

i am a big fan of him

Bolo lankesh Maharaj ki Jai

Now that is what I call a mock-heroic tale of Indian social system!! The sarcastic tone might pinch a lot of bihar & UP residents but fact is fact. By exaggerating the issue of Socio-political chaos, through comic elements, the reading was thoroughly enjoyable and yet not wavering from being an eye-opener for many.

But i find the most unexplored traits of Rawaana- the gyaani still missing...guess its just the beginning of this long unravelling journey towards Rawanism.
gr8 introduction chacha!!!
really liked the concept!

very funny and interesting. The only thing offensive was mention of Bihar as Kidnap capital. While its true in spirit, its true not in fact!Delhi,Noida and Gaziabaad and wester UP,westbengal are equally infamosu for kidnapping. And there criminal records are neck to neck with bihar.Anyway, the post was quite hillarious .Expecting more !But less of Bihar bashing!!

Hey I personally like Rawan. He sounds more practical in today's world. The only mistake he made was to abduct Sita. Well poor him he paid the price.. But Rawan wherever u are ... BIG FAN!!! ;-)

Hey Mr.Jazzed, think in a positive way yaar. Most of the people think that Rawan sir is a bad person because he abducted sita. But i think that Rawan sir is a good-charactered person. He took sita to Lanka to make queen. He in fact gave her protection for 14 years that she wouldn't have received in the forest. Rawan uncle abducted sita but he didn't harmed her or tried to harrass her. so he is a nice person. We must respect such a person who take careof women.

Haha Mr. Suvesh...I could sense a positive Vibe about Mr.Ravan From U ...But one thing i could see from the Epic Ramayan is that without the Devil Performance by Mr.Ravan The Whole Epic would be about the Love Story not the Twist and turn as it is.So Love Ravan for his Devil Performance in The Epic and try to aware Ravanism to all the guys and ..i like the logic of preserving Women haha

Unknown said...

Mr.Raaziv, yes Rawan sir had an important role in the Ramayana. He gave shelter and protection to Sita mata for 14 years. During that period of time, he never tried to make her feel uncomfortable. He was always in favour of her. He respected her everytime and finally handed over her to Ram. So we have to respect Rawan and his role in the love-story of Ram and Sita and in Ramayana. He was a great patroit too. But somebody named Balmiki understood hisrole in the negative way and interpreted in the same manner in the Ramayana. If you respect Rawan sir then it means that you respect all women and your country too.

Without him Ramayana is incomplete.

" without King Rawan, the Ramayana would have been the boring story. It would have only been the story of Ram, Lakhan, Bharat, Satrughan, Dashrath...Hehaha. It's only after King Rawan abducted Sita Mata, the real story of the Ramayan began. The new characters like Halluman, Baali, Sugreeb, Angad, Gaint Kumbhakaran, Bibisan, Mandodhari, Indrajeet, Garud etc were introduced. Other interesting scenes like Halluman carrying the big mountain in his hand, construction of Sethu bridge, Halluman setting up fire in Lanka, and the whole war of the Ramayana were possible only because of King Rawan. Hehaha so I proudly say that Guru Rawan is the Hero of the Hindu epic Ramayana."

May Rawanism live in our hearts for ever. May all generations learn things from Rawan.
Lanka Naresh Ki Jai...Dasanan Ki Jai...Maharaj Lankesh Ki Jai...
